Lombard Masters 40+ crit

Last month I did the Memorial Day Weekend Masters Criterium sponsored by ABD. I wasn't in very good shape heading into the race so my performance was a little disappointing.

The start of the race saw a few guys attack immediately. Team MACK went to the front and blocked while I sat back thinking there would be a chase. This was my first 40+ race ever and I was amazed that the break got away so easily.

The Start

I made an attempt to reach the break later on with Dr. Mike Jones from MetCycling/Pony Shop and a couple other guys. I didn't quite have the power for a quick bridge and when we did get close the field was right behind.

Bridge Attempt

It was raining during the race but the video camera held up well. I had it mounted directly on my handlebar tape and it kept slipping around, though. Later I secured it with a piece of inner tube under the mount for more grip (thanks to Chris at Pony Shop for the suggestion).

I finished 16th overall. I think there were about 6 guys in the break that stayed away. Results are here...

Judson ride action!

I did the Judson ride Sunday and recorded some video clips with the Oregon Scientific ATC2K mounted on my handlebars. The raw clips are AVI file format at 640x480 30fps. The first two were saved as WMV files at 320x240 then uploaded and the last two were uploaded as-is.

Hello world

This year I bought a helmet cam for my bike. I have it mounted on the handlebars and I've been pretty pleased with it so far. I decided to create this blog so I can share race videos and other clips.

I ride for a team in Chicago named xXx Racing-AthletiCo, hence the name of this blog. I hope you enjoy it!
